Hands up if you use your iPhone or Samsung more than you use your gym membership? A great deal of us would be guilty of this! So jump on a digital fitness routine and use it to help you get moving!
The FivePointFour team have been testing out the latest downloads. They can all be streamed on demand, and none of them require a gym membership. Whether you have 20 minutes or an hour to dedicate to training, there’s an exercise plan for you to supplement your 5.4 eating plan.
Here are some of our favs:
If you love running and have a treadmill at home, you’ll love Virtual Runner! This app provides high definition videos of popular courses, which speed up and slow down according to your pace.
There are famous race courses and exotic locations, all shot in widescreen from a runner’s perspective which allows you to fully immerse yourself in the virtual environment. You can also include the natural sounds captured where the video was filmed.
Our favourite courses include a run in New York’s Central Park, along the Great Barrier Reef, in Bali and the 5km Niagara Falls Run.
Is life crazy busy and you think that you don’t have time to exercise? We challenge you to squeeze in a couple of 7 minute workouts a day in!
One download of the 7 minute workout challenge app gives you access to 12 exercises to be performed for 30 seconds with 10 second rest intervals. It is said that this high intensity training with little rest is the equivalent of working out for over an hour. You need to train hard though!
The exercises are easy to perform, don’t require any equipment and you don’t need to be connected to the internet, allowing you to take your workout wherever the day brings you.
The app also tracks your results and unlocks rewards as you continue working out.
Hundreds of the 5.4 fam love the Kayla Itsines app as it provides targeted workouts for users. You can even download this app to an Apple Watch (if you are lucky enough to have one!), meaning you can get Itsines’s step-by-step workouts straight to your wrist.
There are over 24 hours of ready made classes filmed in high definition plus 280 poses, this app can be enjoyed by yoga newbies or veterans.
Classes range from 15 to 60 minutes so you can decide how much time you have to fit your yoga around a busy schedule or when you can’t make it into the gym. Classes are developed and demonstrated by a qualified instructor.
We seriously love this app! You can browse through a lineup of expert trainers to find out what they specialise in and who their high-profile clients are. Then you can download content from your fav.
The Sleep Better app is one that I use daily. It tracks your sleep, monitors your dreams, improves your bedtime habits. I used to struggle to fall asleep at night but this app has helped me learn how my daytime activities influence my sleep. Now I go to sleep quickly and wake up super refreshed!
What are your favourite fitness apps? We’d love to hear from you!
