FivePointFour is very proud to support, via the 5.4 fam, The Hunger Project Australia.
The Hunger Project is a global, non-profit, strategic organisation committed to the sustainable end of world hunger. The Hunger Project’s vision is a world where every woman, man and child leads a healthy, fulfilling life of self-reliance and dignity. They reach 21 million people across Africa, India, Bangladesh and Latin America, with only 378 staff globally. This is because of their pioneering model where staff have trained more than 400,000 local volunteer leaders to mobilise their communities to end their own hunger.
The Hunger Project’s mission is to end hunger and poverty by 2030 with sustainable, grassroots, women-centred strategies and advocating for their widespread adoption in countries throughout the world.
Although we are not suffering from chronic persistent hunger in Australia, we are still all hungry for something. It could be a hunger for more purpose, meaning, love, creativity, confidence. Through the Vision to Action workshop, The Hunger Project will share some incredible lessons that will guide the audience through steps to create their own vision, commitment and actions towards unlocking their leadership, creativity and capacity to live a bigger life.
Are an executive, entrepreneur, intrapreneur or someone seeking inspiration on how to create a vision for your life, your business, your community, or the world? Are you wanting to realise that vision by taking action? This workshop by The Hunger Project Australia (THPA), in partnership with VIVID IDEAS SYDNEY, is for you.
Coinciding with World Hunger Day, the day will kick off with a three-hour interactive Vision to Action workshop, co-facilitated by Cathy Burke, Vice President and Global Leader of Partnerships, The Hunger Project, and Glen Carlson, award-winning entrepreneur, speaker and co-founder of Key Person of Influence. Participants will hear about inspiring lessons learned from village partners in Africa, India and Bangladesh and how to apply these lessons about shifting mindsets, to help unlock their leadership potential to live a bigger life.
Following the workshop, there will be a 45 minute panel discussion with an amazing lineup of guest speakers including Cathy Burke, Jack Delosa (Founder of The Entourage), Ben Lilley (Chairman and CEO of McCann Worldgroup Australia), our very own Beni Doolan (Founder & Director of FivePointFour Meals) and other creative leaders and entrepreneurs who will share their stories and personal journeys with the audience.
The Vision to Action workshop is inspired by the Vision, Commitment, Action (VCA) workshops that The Hunger Project run across Africa and Bangladesh with their village partners. The VCAs are a key component to The Hunger Project’s innovative technology behind shifting the mindsets of people living in chronic hunger and poverty from resignation and despondency to optimism and empowerment, so that they can see that they have the power and agency to end their own hunger. This is the first – and most critical – step in the approach to creating sustainable and transformative change. To date over 4.1 million people across Africa and Bangladesh have participated in a VCA workshop.
